A Depressed Heart is not just a webpage.

It is a long journey that has continued for the past twelve years. No one knows how far this journey will go. It is an attempt to understand depression, to learn how to live with it, and, as far as possible, to find a way out of it.

Here, depression is not explained through the language of textbooks. Instead, it is explored through the perspective of someone who has lived with it.

There are two characters on this platform—Rajeev and Prem.

Prem is the person who has been living in the darkness of depression since 2014. His inner battles, brokenness, fears, exhaustion, hope, failures, despair, and the small victories that keep him moving forward will all be presented in his own voice. This is his story, his life, and his reality.

I am Rajeev, the writer and presenter of this webpage.

I will not tell you everything about Prem all at once. As this webpage unfolds, I will introduce him to you gradually. His story, his thoughts, his struggles, his defeats, his small victories, and the feelings buried deep within his mind—perhaps things he has never shared with anyone—I will bring them before you, one step at a time.

My purpose is not merely to tell his story, but to present him to the world as he truly is. I hope that one day, the same Prem who spent years living in the darkness of depression will stand before the world as a stronger person. That is my commitment, and with that commitment, I have spent the past twelve years trying to understand his struggle and give it a voice through words.

More important than our identities is the conversation between us. That conversation is the soul of A Depressed Heart.

Important Note

Although Prem has been living with depression since 2014, this webpage officially begins in 2026.

Before launching A Depressed Heart, I (Rajeev, the author of this webpage) had already written several articles about Prem and his journey. Those writings will also be presented here.

Therefore, while this webpage begins in 2026, it will also revisit the experiences, conversations, and events that began in 2014. Understanding depression requires looking beyond the present. It is a condition whose roots often stretch back many years.

By tracing Prem’s journey from the very beginning, my goal is to help readers understand depression at its foundation—not merely its symptoms, but how it develops, evolves, and affects a person’s life over time.

Only by understanding depression at its roots can we hope to prevent others from falling into the same darkness.

A Depressed Heart is Prem’s story—the story of a person living with depression. My effort is to bring his untold story to the world exactly as it truly is.

You will not find miraculous cures here. You will not find motivational speeches that promise to transform your life overnight, nor will you find hollow positivity. What you will find is something that often goes unseen—the real experience of living with depression.

Here, you will be introduced to the world of a person struggling with depression, where every day is a battle. You will learn how such a person thinks, how they feel, the mental and physical challenges they face, the circumstances they struggle against, and why even the simplest tasks can sometimes feel impossible. Every effort will be made to present these realities with complete honesty. This is the side of depression that society often overlooks and that very few people truly understand.

The purpose of this platform is not to impress anyone. Its purpose is to foster a deeper understanding of depression.

Whether you are someone living with depression yourself, or a family member, friend, spouse, colleague, or anyone close to a person who is struggling, understanding depression is essential. Too often, people mistake it for laziness, irresponsibility, weakness, or simply an excuse, when in reality it is far deeper and far more complex.

If we can understand how to respond to someone living with depression, what kind of support they truly need, and which words or actions may unintentionally deepen their pain, perhaps we can bring about a genuine positive change in someone’s life.

It is possible that someone living with depression will find here the unspoken thoughts they were never able to put into words. And if you have never experienced depression yourself, perhaps this will be the first time you truly understand that, while this illness may appear simple from the outside, it is profoundly complex on the inside.

Throughout this journey, there will be good days and bad days. Some articles will tell stories of pain, some of struggle, some of small victories, and some will explore questions that perhaps no one has yet been able to answer. At the same time, many of those questions will gradually find their answers throughout the different articles published on A Depressed Heart.

A Depressed Heart does not begin with conclusions.

It begins with a true journey—one that started in 2014 and continues to this day.

And if this journey has one purpose, it is simply this—

To understand depression, to truly feel its reality, and to listen to the voice of the person who is often fighting the greatest battle of their life in silence.

Welcome to this journey.

This version reads like the introduction to a memoir rather than a typical “About Us” page. It has a clear narrative, a chronological flow, and a stronger literary tone while remaining natural and professional.
